Ray More Scholarship Fund
The Ray Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in spring of 2005 by the children of Ray Moore. Ray was a life member of the Western Arkansas Ballet Board of Directors and performed almost yearly as Drosselmeyer in the annual production of The Nutcracker. At his request, the fund was established to help children ages 5 to 9 to be able to participate in dance that might not otherwise be able to participate because of financial reasons. Tuition, leotards, and shoes may be covered at the discretion of the Scholarship committee.
Nancy Wood Scholarship Fund
The Nancy Wood Scholarship Fund was established by the Western Arkansas Ballet Board in 1993 to provide funds to young people who have the desire to pursue the art of dance but no financial means to do so. The scholarship was named in honor of the founder of Western Arkansas Ballet, Nancy Wood. Monies from this fund pay for dance tuition, shoes, workshops, and camps. Young people from across the state have received scholarships from this program, but the majority of the recipients are students at The Academy of Western Arkansas Ballet.
